ADAM PROJECTBased on a fanfic, we recreated the movie trailer inside Free Fire, one of the most popular games in Brazil. And that, by itself, was a crazy and fun endeavour.
Games and films together
The first thing was the idea of connecting with gamers. At that point, Netflix hadn’t done anything for this target yet, even though they were huge for adventure filmes, such as The Adam Project.
The second thing is, understanding through research that people like to watch the trailers to choose the films they are going to see, we were trying do make every trailer a super trailer.
The third thing is we discovered fans had this theory that Turzin (a child game influencer at the time) was actually a younger version of Coringa (the most famous game influencer), because they looked so much alike. They joked that they were the same person in two different ages.
Well, luckily for us, that was the basically the same plot of our movie.
After we discovered the fanfic, we had the idea to recreate the movie trailer inside Free Fire, which was an adventure in itself and crazy hard to do. This game is an online multi-player battle.
Picture this: the director had virtual bodyguards with her inside the game trying to prevent her from getting killed. Which would happen again and again, forcing her to start over and over a million times.
